About Us
Habitat for Humanity of Medina County is an
ecumenical, Christian housing ministry that seeks to
eliminate poverty housing from the world and to make
decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Through volunteer labor, management experts, and
tax-deductible donations of money and materials,
Habitat builds and rehabilitates homes with the help
of the homeowners.  Houses are sold at no profit to
partner families, and no-interest mortgages are issued
over a fixed period.  Small monthly mortgage
payments, including taxes and insurance, are repaid
over an average of 20 years and deposited into a
revolving "Fund for Humanity" which supports the
construction of more houses.

Constructing is a cooperative effort between
volunteers and home recipients.  Habitat relies heavily
on volunteers for construction and administration for
our projects in Medina County Ohio.  In seeking to
build both the tangible and spiritual aspects of a
community, Habitat proclaims the love of Christ in
both word and deed, and aims, always, to glorify God.

Each project, in Medina County and around the world,
is governed by an interdenominational local Habitat
committee or board of directors which sets up a
non-discriminatory family selection process and
makes sure that the houses are affordable to people in
need and are sold on a no-profit and no-interest basis.
